One morning Mr. Gruffyd came to Huw's house and declared that he had come to take Huw to the hills where the daffodils grow plenty. Huw was asked to put on his dress. Mr. Gruffyd assumed that they would be back in two hours time. Huw felt great pain in his bones but he was determined to go out and see the daffodils. Mr. Gruffyd bent down and asked Huw to get up on his back. Huw felt bad riding on the back of the preacher. Coming out side the house Huw found the morning air and sunshine. Going ahead they came to the heap of slag. The children were playing on the heap. Then Mr. Gruffyd showed Huw the bright yellow daffodils waving in the air. The daffodils were there all along the valley. Huw was very pleased to see them.
