The amount of urine produced is regulated by selective reabsorption in the renal tubule of the nephron. It depends on how much excess water is there in the body and how much-dissolved waste is there to be excreted.

In summers more water is lost due to sweating so there is more reabsorption of water by the body to maintain osmotic balance.
