Pancreas is the only organ that secretes enzymes for the digestion of almost all components of food. Pancreatic juice contains sodium bicarbonate and three proenzymes which are present in the inactive form. Trypsinogen, chymotrypsinogen and procarboxypeptidase are inactive forms of protease. Trypsinogen is converted to trypsin by the action of enterokinase and trypin converts chymotrypsinogen to chymotrypsin and procarboxypeptidase to carboxypeptidase.
